We have known each other 30+ years and finally decided to get married on January 15th, 2000. We intentionally waited for the Y2K “possible computer disaster” to come and go and when the world didn’t come to an end we eloped to Nassau. The weather took a turn for the worse at that time and we couldn’t have our beach wedding opting for a small intimate ceremony by the outdoor fountain and pool. The hotel suggested we re-schedule using a board room – but, really?
Chuck is originally from Raleigh, NC and moved to Toronto, ON, Canada in March 1989. Jacquie is Canadian, born in Toronto, and lived in various places in Ontario, Quebec, North Carolina and back in Ontario.
Between us we have 4 daughters and 2 sons scattered across Canada and the US. Our most recent addition to the family is Isla Patricia Johnson, born in Victoria on October 6th – our 8th grandchild. Our eldest granddaughter, Chantel, is in 1st year at University of Toronto and the other 3 grand-daughters (Molly, Katie & Celeste) and 3 grandsons (Andrew, Jagger & Joseph) are in grade school in Poplar Bluff, MO, Penetanguishene, ON and Oakville, ON.
Jacquie retired from IMAX Corporation in 2013 after 20 years of service. Chuck sold heavy construction equipment (primarily Caterpillar) for 25 years and retired in June 2014 – 3 weeks before the closing sale of our “stix & brix” house and purchasing this beautiful “home”.
